Surface
Preparation:
It is essential that wall
surfaces be properly
prepared prior to applying
Terramed. Walls must be
cleaned of grease and oil,
dry, and dust free.
Drywall –
Select any high quality
primer tinted to match the
color of Terramed being
used. To each gallon add
one-cup play-sand and mix
well. Paint the wall with
this modified primer and
allow to dry completely
before applying Terramed.
Masonry –
Terramed will adhere
directly to masonry
finishes, however, for best
results, skim coat masonry
surfaces to smooth over
joints and repair holes,
cracks or other damage with
a masonry patch product that
can be purchased at a local
hardware store. Once this
has dried according to
manufacturers directions,
your wall is ready for
Terramed. Some customers
want to be able to see the
crevices between the bricks
or blocks, so they put the
Terramed right on top of it,
without the masonry patch.
Paint – It is
important to know whether
your walls are covered with
water or oil based paint.
Select a high quality primer
that is compatible with your
paint and tinted to match
the color of Terramed being
used. To each gallon add
one-cup play-sand and mix
well. Paint the wall with
this modified primer and
allow to dry completely
before applying Terramed.
Wood
(paneling, wainscoting,
plywood) – All cracks and
ridges need to be filled in
as with Masonry above.
Select any high quality
primer tinted to match the
color of Terramed being
used. To each gallon add
one-cup play-sand and mix
well. Paint the wall with
this modified primer and
allow to dry completely
before applying Terramed.
Wallpaper
(vinyl-coated, paper,
natural fiber, or fabric) –
It will be necessary to
remove wallpaper prior to
applying Terramed. Once this
is done, select any high
quality primer tinted to
match the color of Terramed
being used. To each gallon
add one-cup play-sand and
mix well. Paint the wall
with this modified primer
and allow to dry completely
before applying Terramed. |
