Natural Cork Wall Tiles
|
Cork
Laminated Wall Covering Tiles.
The beauty,
durability and stable properties of cork have been recognized throughout
the centuries, perfect if you are constructing a creative or an active
space. Cork is a pure material that neither outgases nor
sheds micro fibers thus improving indoor air quality. The acoustical
properties of Cork will also dampen sound creating a more intimate space.
Cork's natural beauty is strikingly elegant and sophisticated while
remaining reasonably priced.
Cork Wall Tiles are not to be used
for bulletin board use. They are not thick enough. For bulletin boards,
please see the
cork underlayment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Wall tiles require the contact cement
adhesive or ProPack (sold below) to be installed. Our contact cement
adhesive was specifically designed to work with a pre-glued backing on the
wall tiles. The manufacture only warranty's this product
when used with this contact cement adhesive.
If you choose to use a different adhesive, please make sure to choose the
"NO pre-glue backing" option because the pre-glue backing does not work with
other adhesives.

Contact Cement: One quart will cover approximately 120 square
feet. (Order for installations of less than 400 square feet)
To make sure that the adhesive will attach
properly, the wall must be primed before using the
contact cement. If you do not have the primer, we recommend that you
order the ProPack instead of just the contact cement, which is below.
NOTE: This must be ordered at the same time as when ordering the wall
tiles. This adhesive works with an adhesive coating that is put on the
back of the tiles. The adhesive is only put on the back when the contact
cement is ordered at the same time. The reason for this is because if
decide that you want to use your own contact cement, then you will not want
the adhesive on the back of the tiles because the adhesive that is put on
the back of the tiles is designed specifically to work with this contact
cement.

| ProPack |
$119.99 |
Parquet Tile ProPack (covers up to 400 square
feet) - Adhesive (gallon), Sub-floor primer (gallon), 2 rollers and
roller handle. The sub-floor primer is used to
prepare the floor before installing the cork
flooring so that the adhesive is not soaked up by
the sub-floor. Make sure that your floor is level and
clean before applying.
(If ordering 400 square feet or more, the ProPack will be cheaper to use
than the Contact Cement)

| Installation Guidelines |
|
Responsibility for the suitability of cork Wall Tile or
the adhesive for each individual case cannot be assumed
by EcoPlanet or the manufacture. Since we have no
influence on the installer’s proper application. Should
an individual Wall Tile be doubtful as to appearance or
dimension the installer should not use this piece. The
manufacture will send a replacement in a timely manner.
Installation
It is important for cork to acclimate. Therefore,
cartons of cork Wall Tiles should be stored out of their
packaging at the job site for a minimum of 72-hours
prior to installation. During storage and installation,
maintain temperature and relative humidity to a level
that is consistent to the conditions that will prevail
when the building is occupied. Heating or air
conditioning should be used for an appropriate length of
time prior and during installation. With improper
acclimation, tiles could expand or contract excessively
after installation.
Cork is
a natural product. Just like wood, cork tile will vary
in shade or pattern definition. Cork is subject to the
normal behavior of expansion during periods of high
humidity and contraction during periods of low humidity
(usually the heating season). With cork, visible signs
of expansion and contraction can be kept to a minimum by
stabilizing the building through temperature and
humidity control, allowing for proper acclimatization of
the product prior to installation, and priming the
substrate with a compatible color (black or brown).
APPLICATION OF ADHESIVE: Pour some
adhesive into clean paint roller tray. Using short-nap
roller, apply a thin coat of adhesive on approximately
50 square feet at a time. A uniform, glossy film indicates sufficient
amount of adhesive. Adhesive will dry in 20 to 30
minutes under normal temperature and humidity
conditions. Always test for proper adhesion prior to
proceeding with the installation. If the tiles do not
seem to adhere properly over a very porous substrate, it
will be necessary to apply a second coat of adhesive.
Finishing
Wall Tile is protected with a factory wax finish. No
other finishing is required. Wall Tiles cannot be
stained.

Care Instructions: The wall
tiles are finished with a wax film. Very little
maintenance is required to preserve the beauty of your
cork wallcovering. Dust can be removed with a brush
attachment on a vacuum cleaner. Soiled areas may be spot
cleaned with a mild detergent on a slightly dampened
clean cloth. Do not rub with excessive force, rather
gently pat to lift soil from cork surface. |
