100% Pure wool - no dyes, pesticides, or stain protections are used. The
application of these chemicals can greatly affect indoor air quality through
the off gassing of volatile organic compounds.
Naturally pigmented wool fibers are used for coloration as opposed to any
of the harsh dyes and chemical bonding agents other carpet manufacturers use
All natural primary backing. Primary backing is made of a combination of
hemp and cotton. Hemp is used for its durability, strength, and mold and
mildew resistance. This is used instead of the traditional synthetic
polypropylene primary.
Wool yarns are locked into place with a
natural adhesive that is derived
from the rubber tree. This further helps to lock the stitches in place and
prevents slippage of the yarn. This adhesive is completely biodegradable and
non-toxic as well.
Jute, a hardy earth friendly fiber producing plant, is used for the secondary backing.
No stain treatment.
Flammability - Meets or
exceeds methenamine pill test requirements for carpets and area rugs.

For wall to wall carpet, it is much better to ship to a commercial
address because it is cheaper, there are more shipping companies that
can deliver it, and freight companies that deliver flooring only deliver
to the curb/loading dock. It would be best to deliver to your carpet
installer's business address if at all possible.

We are only able to
ship the carpet and rugs to North America at this time.
The best way to choose which carpet is to be able to see it and touch it.

All of the carpets below have the same quality. There is a
difference in the weight:
The Dolomite is 30 ounces per
square yard and the Pyrenees is 38 ounces. These weights are true face
weights. Many other manufacture fudge on these numbers. When measuring
for carpet, please remember that the carpet is 12' wide and you want to
design it so that the patterns are the same direction and you minimize the
number of cuts.
Larger Individual Samples:
Each approximately 18" x 27". For when you
know which carpet you are interested in and you would like a larger
individual sample. Price: $40, including shipping within the
contiguous United States.
This
wool based carpet padding is a blend of course naturally pigmented
wool's mechanically needled (not glued) to a jute facing.
Eighty percent of the wool fiber is pre-consumer waste.
The padding is free from dyes, fire retardant, glues, moth proofing
or adhesives. Color will vary from charcoal brown to
tan, depending upon fiber availability. Some vegetable
matter may be present. Average thickness is 7/16 inch,
and the average weight is 30-32 oz/sq. yd. Individuals who have
a sensitivity to animal fibers should obtain a sample before
ordering.
The padding has been designed specifically for these carpets. It is
just the right density and firmness to provide the proper support and
cushion to maximize the performance of the carpet.
This 100% natural wool padding will provide many
years of use before needing to be replaced. When it does,
we urge our customers to recycle it to the garden where it will
safely biodegrade while serving as an effective weed barrier and
mulch. Over a period of 2-3 seasons the padding will
completely disappear, adding nitrogen and other nutrients plants
need to the soil, essentially returning to grass. This wool padding
has been designed to be used for wall to wall carpet only. It is not
recommended to be used for rugs.

The Rug Gripper padding shown here is made
of 100% natural rubber for use on hard surfaces. It will
provide extra comfort underfoot and helps to prevent slipping of
your rug. This pad will not stain any type of floor and an be
easily cut with scissors for a custom fit to any size rug. 1/8th
inch thick.
It is recommend that a rug gripper is used with the rugs to prevent
the rug from slipping.
